Estimates, not appraisals
Fred in the Shed provides identifications and market estimates for second-hand goods, derived from evidence-graded comparable sales. These are for general information only. They are not formal, insurance, or probate appraisals, and nothing here is professional, legal, or financial advice.
No warranty; your reliance
Second-hand values are uncertain and every figure is a range, not a promise. We do not guarantee that any item will sell for an estimated amount, or sell at all. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any loss arising from use of this site or reliance on an estimate.
Agency only — no position in your goods
Where we act on a sale, we act solely as your agent. We do not buy your goods, deal on our own account, or take any position in what we value. Consignment and auction activity, when offered, is governed by a separate written agreement.
Intellectual property
We build our data from public-domain catalogues and publicly available sale records, with provenance kept per document; we don’t republish third-party materials wholesale. Original text, methodology, estimates, and design on this site are ours. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use means you accept the current version.
